“War Is Hell. . .”

Re-enactments may seem like a grown-up game of playing soldiers when, in reality, they are an opportunity to connect with America’s past – a living history!

Yes, the encampments and battles are somewhat entertaining, but, more importantly, they are educational. The amount of work that goes into the planning for these events is a true testimony of their dedication to this avocation. Walking around the encampments, you’ll see the attention to detail in the equipment, the uniforms, the weaponry, the means of transportation, the knowledge of the events of that era and even the language/accents of those characters portrayed.

Let’s not forget the fact that we are able to participate in these living history events because of the commitment of our military forces - veterans and those currently serving.
